What:
The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights will be holding the 5th Annual Human Rights Awards. The theme of the Awards, Heroes in Our Midst, and the day was chosen to commemorate International Human Rights Day (December 10th) when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations. They hope to recognize, celebrate and showcase the achievements and successes of individuals and organizations in Edmonton for their work in promoting human rights in our community. The Human Rights Awards will also help raise awareness on the work that is yet to be done.
